If being out of work for nearly two years is fun then I’m having a whale of a time! Still I’ve finally managed to fill most of my days by volunteering at Oxfam, getting involved with my local residents association, reading some of those books that have gathered dust on my bookshelf and trying to get a bit fitter by walking and more lately cycling to as many appointments as possible.

In many ways finding a job would get in the way but I can assure you the money earned would be more than welcome. After living off JSA for an extended period of time, to have some spare cash would be a wondrous thing. So I keep on filling in application forms and keeping my fingers crossed that one day, some employer may just take a chance on this 48 year old, overweight but happy person.
