Where I sit and use my PC I can look out of my window and see the communal garden covered in (now melting) snow thinking I should really be reading or doing something. I’ve been reading the same book for weeks now. I got this far the last time I read Helliconia by Brian Aldiss and I can’t understand why. It is a great book (or at least what I’ve read of it), I’m midway through “Summer” once again and I just seem to be putting off reading the rest of it. The odd thing is I enjoy reading and I normally plough through books, I have several waiting my attention but I’m determined to pick up and finish this book first. It is quality science fiction that deserves my attention!

I guess life has just got in the way and my free time is being used up by other things at the moment.



  1. I like reading Science Fiction too, one of my favourite things, but I have to be really in the mood to sit and sink into the book and the characters/adventures portrayed there. Lovely to meet you, and to have a look around your site.. Gotta go and tend to my Bess, (Border Collie) for the moment but I will call back and take a slower look around… xPenx

      I did sit and read about 50 pages after I wrote the above. It’s odd that I’m putting off reading this book because I’ve read many books by the author and really enjoy his work. Maybe I just don’t want to enjoy myself too much at the moment.
