River of Life

River of Life

Rent into the valley by fell magic
The River of Life brings death to it’s seekers.

Yet still they come through viscous seas
Risking all to bring knowledge from the departed.

For new life is brought forth at a terrible cost,
Reborn are the memories of the dead

In the minds of the children left behind
Memories forced into their minds by the magic

The seekers bring their dead to the mage
He who wrought the River of Life itself

They must sacrifice their souls as payment
For that is the price he asks to use his powers

The dead are reborn
For the living to die
Knowledge lives forever
If the tribe is to survive

  1. Great theme Trevor, and wonderful imagery brought to mind. Loved the whole read and what a terrible price to pay. Shivers…xPenx

    • It is a bit abstract and the theme is a bit on the dark side but I’m pleased you like it Pen, I wasn’t sure about posting it but I’m pleased I did now.

  2. dark theme Trevor, but really like the conversation with the pic.

    • I’m really pleased you enjoyed it Bex, not my usual style but it was fun writing it.
