Thank You

The party was good, it went really well.
In fact I would say the host should feel proud,
I made new friends, reinforced an old one.
Challenged a few beliefs I hold,
that I would rarely get surprised, by anything!
This held true, more friends made.

The company were few but warm and welcoming.
No one made a fool of themselves,
at least not while I was there.
How happy can one man be after such an evening?
Even the walk home in the early hours was pleasant,
City life winding down, Sunday awaits.

Now all I can do is relax after an evening well spent.
Taking Sunday at an easy stroll.
Events like those are rare indeed.
Generations mixed with ease,
laughing at each others jokes.
How I wish all life were this easy.
