From fascinator to merkin.

Fascinators

With many things to learn in a lifetime,
a man misses plenty of those womanly items
that for many reasons stay beyond his realm.
That is,
until by chance he encounters that rare female,
one that is prepared to educate him!

Of the numerous things that come under discussion
are those male terrors of weddings
and the rather more interesting parts of the female anatomy!
For you see,
both fascinator and merkin are covers of sorts,
one for her head and the other for the not so obvious!

At a wedding the most stylish of ladies
will now attire their head with a fascinator, not a hat!
Fine feathers and bows adorn them.
They appear like
Birds of Paradise, finely prepared
to display themselves in all their glory.

Now to the most delicate part of my tale,
for cover the tale a merkin must surely do!
To hide the most intimate of bodily parts,
it surely must!
To hide my blushes my tale here must end,
apart from to thank my educator, I hope this rises to the challenge.

  1. I love fascinators! Trevor, not all women have the “bridal gene.” I never wanted a fussy wedding, never dreamed or fantasized about it. I think it’s exploitative and selfish, and believe many women think the same. The “bridezillas” of the world get a lot of attention but most of us think they’re really irritating. How ridiculous men and women are, expecting each other to understand the nuances of their gender with no real communication! But I have always believed in our similarities rather than our differences. I think our differences are over-exaggerated, because don’t we all really want the same thing, love and companionship and support?

PS—Is there any way to subscribe by email to comments? I am subscribed to your blog, but don’t see any way to subscribe by email to comments after making one.

    • Hi Find An Outlet, This whole thing stems from a conversation we were having one evening about the two very different forms of attire, at the end of the evening I was challenged to see if I could come up something that included both. i think I struggled a bit with the merkin but after looking at plenty of photos of fascinators, I think I quite like them as well.
I also agree with you about how both sexes are miles apart on some issues yet we are all looking for the same thing.

PS- I think I sorted out the email subscription to replies as well πŸ™‚

      Thanks for reading and commenting
